A.T. Ferrell Honored as Wells County Chamber of Commerce featured member of the monthFriday, June 15
The Wells County Chamber of Commerce staff and Ambassadors surprised the staff of A.T. Ferrell as the June Member of the Month. A.T. Ferrell employs 52 people and has been in business in Wells County since 1954, but their roots go back to 1869.
The company manufactures and sells seed cleaning machines, roller mills, and steamflaking machines world-wide. “Our machines are built to order, although the parts are in stock,” said Steve Stuller, President of A.T. Ferrell. Stuller admits many people in Wells County don’t know what they do, but it isn’t a secret they are trying to keep. Even across the globe, they are better known by their well-established brands: Clipper, Ferrell-Ross and Mix-Mill.
Clipper seed and grain cleaners are the most used air screen cleaners in the world and have been manufactured for nearly 150 years. They offer 17 models which can all be customized to customer specifications. “Every machine we build starts out as sheet metal and tube steel and we build them from scratch,” said Stuller.
Ferrell-Ross is one of the most widely known manufacturers of roller mills, flaking mills, and cracking mills. They have been around since 1939 and are used by food and cereal processing plants, commercial feed mills, livestock and poultry feeders, and oil seed processors worldwide.
Mix-Mill is one of the most well known manufacturers of feed processing and mixing systems, grinding and blending machines used by food processing plants, feed mills, and cereal processors worldwide.
Stuller credits the large number of long-time employees as a big part of their success. He also noted their 150th anniversary is next year and they are in the beginning stages of planning a celebration to mark the milestone.
